This leather dog tag / training slip scollar is made from premium, full-grain 8-10oz Wickett & Craig bridle leather. It is among the highest end vegetable tanned leathers in the world. Located in Curwensville, PA, USA, Wickett & Craig is known for quality, durability, and rich finishes. The leather is drum dyed in a range of finishes then hot stuffed with waxes making this leather smooth and flexible with a waxy texture on both sides. The leather breaks in quickly and gets even better with age.
The hardware is high quality solid brass and the leash is hand-stitched using the traditional saddler's method with Ritza Tiger Thread in a color that coordinates with the leather. The edges are meticulously beveled and hand-burnished with Japanese Tokonole and premium edge paint that matches the leather color making the edges round and smooth. The result is a beautiful, soft, and durable leather collar that will last a lifetime.
This ID dog collar / slip collar combo is perfect for hanging identification tags from so you can use multiple different collars without worrying about changing the tags. It is also nice for long-coated dog breeds to have a thin collar for identification purposes which will not break their coat. The snap can be attached to the sliding ring to convert the tag collar into a slip collar for training or competing at dog shows. I do not recommend using this as a collar to walk your dog on unless they are extremely well-behaved and they do not pull.
BEFORE YOU ORDER:
Sizing: This collar is designed to slide on and off of your dog's head. Measure the circumference around the largest part of your dog's head and under the chin using a cloth measuring tape or string in inches. Make sure the string is tight, but can still go over their head and fit comfortably on their neck. You may use a half-measurement (example: 12.5"). Do not add any length to the measurement, I will add length to ensure a comfortable fit. Add your measurement into the customization field above.
Please note that while on the stationary ring, the collar is meant to slide over the dogs head in case it gets caught on something for the dog's safety, just like the normal ID dog collar. If you want the collar to not be able to slide off at all, leave this preference in the comments during checkout.
