These grab tabs are made from premium, full-grain 8-10oz Wickett & Craig bridle leather. It is among the highest end vegetable tanned leathers in the world. Located in Curwensville, PA, USA, Wickett & Craig is known for quality, durability, and rich finishes. The leather is drum dyed in a range of finishes then hot stuffed with waxes making this leather smooth and flexible with a waxy texture on both sides. The leather breaks in quickly and gets even better with age.
These grab tabs are essential in training, especially in agility and obedience! They are 5/8" wide and either 6" or 8" long.
The swivel snap is high quality solid brass and the collar is hand-stitched using the traditional saddler's method with Ritza Tiger Thread in a color that coordinates with the leather. The edges are meticulously beveled and hand-burnished with Japanese Tokonole and premium edge paint that matches the leather color making the edges round and smooth. The result is a beautiful, soft, and durable leather grab tab that will last a lifetime.
There are two styles:
The first is an 8" long grab tab. These are perfect for agility since they have no knots or rings to get caught on jumping equipment. This is also much safer for your dog than having a long leash drag behind them where it could get caught. It is also great for you and your dog's off-leash hiking and backpacking adventures!
The second is a 6" long grab tab with a d-ring on the end. This is perfect for obedience, rally, and defense training since you can quickly hook a normal lead to the end of the d-ring when switching between off-leash and leashed training. Also great for hiking and backpacking when you need your dog leashed periodically!
The entire length of both tab styles are beautifully hand-stitched instead of riveted so the leather keeps its natural flexibility. The stitching looks and feels great in your hands and the leather is double thickness which makes it easy to hold on to.
